The National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF-FS, 2022) is the brainchild of the National Education Policy (NEP, 2020), which aims to redesign the educational landscape of the country as per the contemporary needs. It is significant to initiate the groundwork for putting the policy into practice. This paper aims to study the impact of NCF-FS 2022 in shaping the perceptions of primary school teachers in Chandigarh by interviews and checklists to navigate structural prescriptions of the policy at the functional level to develop understanding about the impact of the policy. The study unfolds in three steps synonymous with a ladder, namely, question, dialogue and analysis in the context of thematic discovery of narratives shaping underlying perceptions.
