Understanding the Influence of Polymer Molecular Weight Distribution on Injection Moulded Parts: A Comprehensive Review
Abstract
The molecular weight distribution (MWD) of polymers plays a pivotal role in determining the properties and performance of injection molded parts. This review explores the intricate relationship between polymer MWD and the various characteristics of injection molded components, including mechanical strength, thermal stability, surface finish, and dimensional stability. Through an in-depth analysis of existing research and case studies, this article aims to provide insights into the importance of controlling polymer MWD in injection molding processes for achieving desired part properties and enhancing product quality.
