The growing environmental impact of conventional polymer and textile production has created a strong impetus for the development of sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives derived from renewable resources, biodegradable materials, and green processing technologies. Sustainable polymers and textiles aim to reduce carbon emissions, minimize waste generation, and support circular economy principles, while maintaining or enhancing material performance for industrial and consumer applications. Recent innovations include bio-based polymers, biodegradable fibers, recycled composites, and solvent-free or low-energy textile processing methods, which collectively contribute to environmentally responsible manufacturing. These materials are increasingly being integrated into diverse sectors such as healthcare, packaging, wearable electronics, automotive, and construction, demonstrating the versatility and applicability of sustainable polymer and textile solutions. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances (2023–2025) in sustainable polymer and textile engineering, highlighting the design, synthesis, and functionalization of eco-friendly materials. It also addresses key sustainability challenges, including scalability, cost-effectiveness, material durability, and regulatory compliance, which remain critical for widespread adoption. Additionally, future research directions are discussed, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches, circular economy strategies, and innovative processing techniques to drive both environmental and technological progress. By consolidating recent literature and emerging trends, this review underscores the pivotal role of sustainable polymers and textiles in shaping a greener, more resilient, and high-performance materials landscape.
