Community-based and cooperative tourism models have emerged as effective approaches to promote inclusivity, local empowerment, and long-term sustainability. This review paper synthesizes existing literature on the integration of sustainability and resilience in tourism through community-driven and cooperative frameworks. It examines key concepts, policy frameworks, operational models, and challenges associated with these approaches. The findings highlight that community participation, equitable benefit distribution, and adaptive governance are critical for building resilient tourism systems. The study contributes to the growing body of knowledge by offering insights into sustainable tourism practices and their implications for destination development.
