Reform in Labor Laws and its Importance for Economic Growth after COVID-19

Abstract

COVID-19 a pandemic is a health disease which will impact every dimension of life across the globe as well as in India. Indian government on 24 March called for country across lockdown resulting into major loss in revenue generation in different states. In order to overcome this shortage of funds collected from different taxes and duties many state governments passed an ordinance by which they will make some essential changes in labor laws to boost the revenue collection after the lockdown. In this article an attempt is made to analyze the expected impact of changes done in labor laws on industrial output and on the performance of labor working in these industries. In this study Changes made in labor laws of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh will be under taken for study. A comparison will be done between labor laws of two states and within new and old labor laws present in these states respectively. Article will be focusing on finding out the impact of changes made in labor laws due to COVID-19 on Industrial output; Employment Creation and on the labors engaged in these industries.
