Abstract

In this process of power production the transformer is place between
alternator and grid through requisite switch gear arrangement like
Isolator, circuit breaker. If the Transformer is not working properly due
to inadequate cooling method, then the transmission will be affected
resulting in revenue loss for power station. So, it is requisite that the
transformer should be given at most care for its effective operation.
With the help of superintend of transformer it can be done. In the
superintend process, the temperature of oil and winding, over voltage
and over current place a major role and has to be control with in limit.
Since the transformer using generating station is a power transformer
whose capacity around 250 MVA, superintend the temperature, over
current and over voltage of oil and winding is difficult task.
In order to crush the disadvantage of existing control scheme, a
Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) can be used. The software of
PLC can be use easily and mainly be contingent on program written in
its memory. One of the common programming method use in PLC is
Ladder Program (Lad logic). This paper present contraption of automatic
control circuit in PLC to observe the different fault of transformer. This is
online superintend system in combination with PLC and various sensors.
It help to observe the inside as well as outside fault of transformer and
also reduce this fault with the help of various range of constraint which
is said by programmer who operate it on the desk of control panel.
