Compact Printed Slotted Pentaband Antenna for Wireless Communication Systems

Abstract

This paper presents the design of planar, compact, slotted multiband microstrip patch antenna for various wireless applications. The performance analysis of proposed design includes design methodology, frequency setting, 3D polar plot and radiation patterns for the fixed frequency bands.  This proposed antenna geometry generates five frequency bands at 1.57, 1.86, 2.61, 3.07 and 3.56 GHz. The dielectric material selected for the design is Epoxy FR4 which has dielectric constant of 4.4 and height of the substrate is 1.57 mm. The antenna is occupying an area of 50 X 50 mm2 for the ground plane.
