Abstract

Both tourists and travel service providers have noticed a significant impact from the Internet. In order to highlight key areas of concentration
and gaps in the research landscape connected to the Internet in tourism, this article organises and analyses the richness of research that has
been published in significant tourist journals over the past ten years. Over the latter five years of the ten-year period under investigation,
there has been a significant increase in the number of research papers. Information search, website analysis, Internet marketing are the three
most popular research topics, the study can be divided into seven categories. Despite the fact that research on Internet-related difficulties
in the tourism industry is widespread, the article urges more case study research to be done from an e-business and organisational viewpoint
so that other organisations can learn from mistakes made as well as from best practises.
