This research paper examines the contemporary ecological crisis through the philosophical framework of Madhyasth Darshan (Coexistentialism), articulated by A. Nagraj. Humanity today is facing a serious turning point. Ecological imbalance, environmental damage, and human confusion have all combined to create a global crisis. Rising temperatures, polluted air and water, loss of soil fertility, and rapid exploitation of forests and minerals have put the stability of the planet at risk. The research paper explains that such conditions are not natural accidents but the result of confused human behaviour driven by fear, greed, and uncontrolled use of technology. Instead of understanding nature and living in harmony with it, humans have tried to dominate it, which hasled to suffering for all living beings. According to Madhyasth Darshan, existence is the co-existence of all units within the all-pervading reality. The coexistential approach provides a positive and practical alternative, which focuses on restoring the physical and chemical balance of the planet while aligning human behaviour with values and justice. Through right education, value cultivation, and participation in a universal human order, humans can live responsibly with nature. Practical guidelines include harmony-based agriculture, protection of forests and minerals, wildlife conservation, and adoption of non-destructive energy sources.
The research paper finally establishes that human well-being and Earth’s well-being are inseparable. Awakening enables humans to naturally take responsibility for maintaining balance and living in coexistence with all three non-human orders – material, plant and animal. Such a shift, from exploitation to harmony, is essential for humanity’s future.
