The global fashion industry is undergoing a profound transformation, shifting from traditional linear production models—characterized by “take-make-dispose” approaches—toward circular economy frameworks that prioritize sustainability, resource efficiency, and waste minimization. This review critically examines the evolution of sustainable fashion management and emerging circular practices, highlighting key strategies across the value chain, including supply chain integration, sustainable sourcing, eco-friendly materials, circular design methodologies, and technological innovations. The study synthesizes insights from the literature on consumer behavior, ethical considerations, corporate social responsibility, and policy frameworks, which collectively shape the adoption of circular practices in the fashion industry. Findings underscore the importance of closed-loop production systems, reverse logistics, recycling, upcycling, and digital technologies such as big data, blockchain, and AI in driving operational efficiency and environmental performance. Despite notable advancements, the industry faces persistent challenges, including high implementation costs, technological and infrastructure limitations, and consumer adoption barriers. The paper emphasizes the need for cross-sector collaboration, policy support, and continuous innovation to overcome these challenges. Finally, future research directions are proposed, focusing on scalable circular business models, material innovation, consumer engagement strategies, and interdisciplinary approaches, with the goal of fostering a sustainable and resilient fashion ecosystem globally.
