Knowledge Management in University Libraries of CRSU, Jind and CBLU, Bhiwani: A Study

(KM) has emerged as a vital task for enhancing the effectiveness and relevance of university libraries in the knowledge-driven academic environment. The present study investigates the status of KM practices in the university libraries of Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University (CRSU), Jind, and Chaudhary Bansi Lal University (CBLU), Bhiwani. The study examines the level of awareness and understanding of the term and concept of KM among library professionals, the essential skills required, the various applications, the goals, the benefits, and the challenges or barriers faced by library professionals in implementing KM practices in the university libraries under study. The study reveals that almost all the library professionals working in the university libraries under study have a good level of awareness of KM. Some challenges were also identified that hinder KM implementation. The study concluded that strengthening essential skills, infrastructural development, enhancing skilled and qualified human resources, and institutional support are crucial for successful KM implementation in university libraries.
